Coin Tosses Are Not 50/50
"A flipped coin will land in the same position it started 51 percent of the time."
In a paper titled "Dynamical Bias in the Coin Toss," three American-based professors from Stanford University argued that the flight of a coin flip is "determined by its initial condition." Specifically, it is slightly more likely to end up heads if it starts heads and vice versa.
Using principles of physics and math the researchers were even able to build a coin-flipping machine that could produce heads every time; although when a human in a non-fixed environment does the tossing, it's a 51/49 split
So there you go, next time your in a coin toss and get asked Heads or Tails, just go with whatever the coin starts off as. The odds are in your favor that way, well by a whole 1% anyway.

Taller you are, the more you earn !
I just heard an interesting but controversial fact, supposedly the taller you are the more you earn. Men earn a higher average salary for every inch of height.
An Australian study, which backs up previous studies from the United States and England, has found that each 2 inches of height equals 12 month of extra experience, or about £485 a year in extra pay. The researchers weren't sure if this was more about taller men commanding more respect, or shorter guys getting discriminated against.
But either way it is quite a legitimate claim, I personally think its BS, but there is a traditional view in business that the taller you are, the more respect you claim. Especially in things such as stock markets.
One person which this claim seems to be true of is Peter Jones from Dragons Den. He is a massive 6ft 7 in height (2.01m) and he certainly is raking in the money.

Zombies To End The World !
A team in Canada confirmed that if a zombie outbreak was to happen it would end civilisation. They came to this conclusion through various studies using both biological and mathematical ideas and references. The study has been welcomed by disease specialists around the world for its contribution to understanding deadly outbreaks. Those included in the "Zombie Report" include Prof. Neil Ferguson, who is a chief advisor on swine flu for the UK government.
So here we have experts now telling us that if zombies were to come about, it would spell disaster for the human race. You can read the full report and paper here http://www.mathstat.uottawa.ca/~rsmith/Zombies.pdf but let me warn you, this paper is seriously hard to understand, especially the mathematics side of it. It all looks like a new language to me, some sort of "zombie" language (no pun intended)
Zombies most likely to end the world!
I honestly thought when I first saw this article today in the news it was a joke, but its actually a serious report. So maybe our world soon will look like a scene from "Resident Evil, "Dawn Of The Dead" or "28 Days Later" Maybe just all of the above.
But anyway for now I suggest you get ready for a zombie outbreak, preparation is the key according to these so called "experts" I just cant believe what the media and directors of university studies will write about today, next thing we know pigs will actually be flying, and not just ordinary pigs, zombie pigs!

Stupid, Yet Brilliant Online Business Ideas That Made Someone Rich
Continuing on from my last post in a weird sort of way, I have decided to list 10 online business ideas that sound really stupid, yet they have managed to make their creator rich. I have known about this list for a while, but it only just hit me to write about it after I finished my last post on "Making Money Online"
Anyway, here they are, the 10 stupidest sounding online business ideas.
1. Million Dollar Homepage
1,000,000 pixels on a webpage, each pixel selling for $1.00, tagline being "Own a piece of internet history"
It is probably the pure insanity in this idea that made it so popular, and also the $1 price per pixel is pretty cheap, so it’s no wonder people actually began buying pixels on this site. Despite how stupid this sounds, it happened to make the the 21 year old site owner, Alex Tew, a millionaire. Damn if only I had thought of this :(
2. Doggles
As the name suggests, it’s simply goggles, but here's the catch, for dogs. Yep you read right, let’s create goggles for dogs and then sell them online. Wow, this really is a stupid sounding idea, yet it made the people with the idea millionaires. Just shows people will buy anything, at least anything if they own a dog.
3. LaserMonks
Basically this is a site where real life monks refill your ink cartridges amongst other things they do. Now you wouldn’t imagine this would make much money, yet, I have heard their 2005 sales profited $2.5 million, so maybe it really isn’t that bad an idea.
4. SantaMail
This is a pretty clever idea. Get a postal address at North Pole and pretend that you actually are Santa clause. Then charge parents all over $10 to send a personalized letter to their kids. Byron Reese has sent over 275,000 letters since the start of the business in 2001, which made him a millionaire. I am not too sure if this site is still actually running, but it still remains a stupid yet brilliant idea.
5. FitDeck
Create a deck of cards with exercise routines on them then sell them online. Doesn't sound like the cleverest of ideas to me, yet it happened to make former SEAL/Fitness Instructor, Phil Black, a millionaire.
6. AntennaBalls
Yep, Car antenna balls, lets create them, sell them online and become a millionaire. Yes, it does sound like a child dreamt this up, but it is exactly what Jason Wall did. Bet he is pleased he went along with this idea.
7. Designer Diaper Bags
Designer bags to carry around diapers for your baby, I spose it aint the stupidest of ideas, the money it has created certainly makes it sound professional enough. Making $180,000 in sales for 2005, Diapees & Wipees, has bags in 22 different styles, available online and in 120 boutiques across the globe for $14.99. Bet she is glad she is a mother, or else she will never have came up with this idea.
8. PickyDomains
Pay someone to think up a domain name for you. That is the general principle behind this idea, I think this site hit the 6 figure sum in profits in 2008, although I am not entirely sure.
9. PositivesDating.Com
Not the worst of ideas really, an online dating site, but for those that happen to be HIV positive. This site has at least 50,000 members I have heard and is making a decent amount of money as well.
10. Lucky Wishbone Co.
Yep, fake wishbones, you would never think this idea would take in money but you couldnt be more wrong. They make around 30,000 wishbones on a daily basis and sell for $3.00 a time. It’s just amazing to think people would actually buy fake wishbones.
Well there you go. The 10 stupidest ideas for an online business, yet it could be claimed that the stupidity is what makes it so successful.
Once again, Thanks for reading this post

Making Money Online
Making money online, what a popular topic that is these days. It seems that everyone is interested in it and with good reason. I mean, who would honestly put down the chance to make money online from the comfort of your own home ? Exactly, no one.
I must have googled this niche more than anyone else which is why I have so much experience in what works and what is actually just a scam. I have decided that today I will list 4 things that are sure to earn you an income online, maybe not an income that you could live off, but certainly give a little boost to your bank balance, and that can only be a good thing.
Ebay
Yes I know, you’re thinking "I already know about Ebay" but do you, really ? I mean yes, you can sell all the stuff around your house that you don’t use anymore like Consoles, games, books, DVD's, Models, etc.. I have sold a large collection of things on ebay and I’m only 18, and you can actually make a decent bit of money from doing this providing you have sense and realistic approach to it. This is how I first started making money online and it continues to be one of the ways I do it. I have managed to build up 370 positive feedbacks for myself which I am pretty proud of considering the fact I am only 18. But what do you do when you run out of things to sell ? Well that’s when things get interesting and tricky at the same time.
That’s where something called "Dropshipping" comes into play. It’s basically where you list items as being your own when the reality is another company holds it as stock of their own. When the item you had listed sells, you put this order in to the company holding it and they send it off to your buyer. It is actually a really simple process and I recommend you google the subject term "Dropshipping" to find out more. I have made a fair bit in the past through dropshipping, but unfortunately these days there is a large competition out there in this particular field making it harder to actually be able to dropship, especially if you’re a small time seller.
You could also try buying things in bulk from somewhere and then trying to sell off some of this bulk individually and make a profit. When you buy in bulk you get things at a reduced price meaning you could sell it on at a higher price per item meaning you make a profit. It's another thing I recommend you look into, of course the problem with buying in bulk is having storage space to keep all the stock of whatever you happen to be buying.
Writing Reviews Online
Yes, believe it or not, but not everything you read on writing reviews online to make money is a scam. Some sites are actually genuine and legit and will pay you good money to write reviews on products in the consumer world. Two sites I can only highly recommend are "DooYoo" and "Ciao"
I happen to be signed up on both sites and have made money from both sites as well. I have made £100.00 from DooYoo so far and about £45.00 from Ciao. I prefer DooYoo to Ciao due to the layout of the site and the community feel with the site, however Ciao is still a perfectly good site to use. You can review pretty much anything you can think of and get paid for it. Obviously it takes some time to get the money but it happens to be very enjoyable on the way there.
If you are a keen writer or just enjoy having your say about various products in the world then I really do suggest you sign up to DooYoo and Ciao and start reviewing. It’s free to sign up and you can start writing and making friends as soon as. Since I have been through this all myself I can easily help you with it!
If you are interested in doing this then please e-mail me or leave a comment in this post and I can invite you on board, plus I can offer you any help you need along the way.
Doing Surveys Online
Yes, it is possible to get paid money for completing surveys online. Although the payments are usually not that great and it takes quite a long time to actually accumulate any real amounts of money, it is still something you should consider along with writing reviews online. In total I have made roughly £15-20 from doing surveys online, so as you can see, it’s not exactly substantial. But if you have some free time then there is no reason why you shouldn’t give it a go. Again the site I recommend for doing surveys happens to be Ciao as they offer to pay people money for surveys, and sometimes they offer quite a lot for surveys ( I once saw one where you got £5.00 just for completing it)
If you are interested in this, then as I have already said just leave a comment in this post and I will invite you to start doing surveys as soon as.
Blogging
Now yes, I know I am relatively new to this, but I happened to have read many articles and discussions on making money through blogging, and its actually quite easy to do. You obviously need a blog (I recommend signing up on blogger.com like I have done) and you also need to be interested in writing articles on your blog to keep visitors flowing to your site.
Now there are various ways you can make money through your blog, but the most popular happens to be with google themselves and their brilliant scheme called "AdSense" This is where google place ads on your blog and when visitors you obtain happen to click on these ads from google you get money. It is a great idea and I think its well worth looking into if you are interested in it.
Again if you need any information or help with any of the above, then please just send me an e-mail or leave a comment on this blog. Once again thanks for reading !

Getting into this thing we call "Blogging"
Just a quick post to let you all know that I'm really getting the hang of this "Blogging" business. I have even signed up with google AdSense programme that some of you may already be aware of. It seems to be a really good scheme that is a win win situation for both myself and for google. It works by people clicking on ads placed by google on your blog, then these ads that are clicked on go towards earnings for yourself. I highly recommend anyone into reading up on it, only one catch though, u must be 18 years of age or over ;)
But if you fit the criteria of being over 18 then have a look into it !
Also another thing I would like to recommend to all you bloggers out there is "Zemanta" If you google it you can find out all the information about it. It is a extension (basically an add on) for Firefox and Internet Explorer, its really handy for writing blog posts as I h
Zemanta is a very handy tool for bloggers
So far I have had no problems with "Zemanta" and I personally think its great !
Anyway people, thats all my tips for now, I will be posting more blogs soon though so be on the look out
You never know, I might even give you some more helpful information :D

My Blogging Introduction
I would like to start by talking a bit about myself. Please stick with me here and dont go away yet through boredom.
As the "about me" part states, my name is Iain Geddes and I am 18 years young, I have just recentley finished my final year of school, or as some call it, the "best years of your life".
Its quite easy to understand how people would class it as being the best years of your life, but I only realised that after walking out my school for the final time.
Anyway, I live in north east Scotland in a town called Portlethen, it is roughly 5 mile's from Aberdeen city. It has its good points and bad points like many other places in this world, but thankfully it is a pretty nice area. I will blog about it later, but for now this is just the basics
As I have already mentioned I have just finished school and got my exam results through the door. They were not the best of results, failed 1 subject but passed the other 3.
I have had this ongoing problem of uncertainty in what I truly want to do in life, and this has been going on for what feels like an eternity now, truth being it has lasted 4 years. I guess the problem lies with choice, there is just so much choice these days in what you could do, the problem is deciding what to do and going for it.
I have thought on joining the police, bein a lawyer, becoming an I.T consultant, being a vet, to then being a; joiner, plumber, dog handler, zooologist, doctor etc... As you see, just a whole wide range of thoughts. Ironic thing is when I was young, I always thought getting into a career would be easy. Just choose the best job and do it, but you grow up and realise it just aint that easy.
The advice I have heard everywhere is "Do what you enjoy and what you are good at" so if I followed that advice I would be a guy who sits with his mates and chills, why ? because I enjoy being with my mates and I am good at 'chilling' (just relaxing to those of you who dont know)
I have always had a passion for making money as well, I mean money gets you things, things us humans want, things us humans need, things us humans live for. It seems like an ironic cycle though when you truly think on it, you work to make money, you use that money to live and to buy the occasional things you want, then you go back to work to make more money to repeat this cycle. It's just so sad that our whole world is so dominated by money, I always said it's only a piece of paper, but then when you think on it, everything is a piece of paper these days; Birth Certificate, School Records, Exam Results, Insurance Documents, Marriage and Divorce Papers etc..
My money making passions have led me into a few things, all online. I created an ebay account a long time ago now and since then have sold hundreds of things all to generate some sort of income. I also have done online surveys and wrote online reviews which has boosted my money although not by a significant amount. I am one of those people who always think there is a better way to work, I would hate to be like a sheep and follow the majority of people by working a 9-5 routine for a boss. I just always think there must be a better way, problem is I havent found it yet.
I would love an online business or some sort of way to generate a constant income online, I have looked into many things from dropshipping, importing, exporting and online marketing, but just havent came across anything for sure yet.
Well thats about it for now, this was just meant as a sort of introduction to myself and my life. I will be posting much more soon, but for now this will have to do. Thanks for reading this far down, I really do appreciate it and would love to hear from anyone who has read this. I am rather new to this blogging but soon enough I will have got the hang of it all :D
